I started journaling many years ago. It’s just something I’ve always done. The only thing was this; no one ever taught me HOW to journal.
It wasn’t until recent years when I noticed that the more positive things I wrote about in my journal, the more positive things I got out of life (and that wasn’t because I learnt to focus on the positive), and so it was with the negative. I finally concluded at a point to only write happy, good, vibrant, positive things in my journals. Only write the things I desired, aspired for and hoped to see in my life.

This was a massive project for me because, as some of you may know, I write a lot of emotional poetry at the down points of my emotional cycles (I pretty much find it easier to express myself in poetry when I’m low) so for some time, I didn’t even know what to write in my journal.
It was difficult to focus on the positive and even more difficult to not focus on the negative I tried reeeeeaaally hard… and when I was able to break through, things began to change.
You see, we are at this present moment, a reflection of our thoughts, actions and decisions in the past. We literally are in our today who we believed we were in our yesterday… and the same principle applies for our tomorrow.
Tomorrow will be as today was if we live today like we did yesterday.

Something has to change, and that change has to happen now! It can’t happen in the past because that’s already gone. And trying to change the present in the future is like trying to fix your make-up by painting the mirror. The future is a reflection of who we are now. So the change has to happen now… that is, if you want it.
