Indulgence
By Chiedozie Omeje
A fascinating short story by the winner of the C. I. T. Writer’s Award, 2020.Pastor Matt Makinde took his first swig from the tincture of adultery, and thought it was a good wine. A letter, a cleavage, a song, and France Moore became the temptation he couldn’t and didn’t want to overcome. Matt was one pastor who pretended he didn’t know that a negotiation with the flesh leads to one end only, no matter what was agreed.Lust, like greed, is carnivorous and cannot be spoonfed.
