About Chartus.X

We are an independent UK publishing house built for readers who believe books should do more than entertain. They should endure.Founded in 2020 with a deep respect for literary craft and intellectual curiosity, our publishing programme brings together poetry, non-fiction, fiction anthologies, and carefully curated classics—books designed to be read slowly, returned to often, and kept close. We publish for readers who seek meaning as much as narrative, beauty as much as insight, and who recognise books as companions in both thought and life.

What we publish

At the heart of our work is a commitment to quality over volume. We work closely with writers, editors, and designers to create books that feel considered in every sense—content, language, form, and presentation. Our publishing spans four distinct imprints, each with its own voice and purpose.

Chartus.X Publishing
Our literary core. Home to poetry collections, non-fiction, and general fiction that explore the inner life, culture, ideas, and the complexities of the modern world. This is where reflection meets rigour.

Lantern Classics
A newly launched imprint devoted to timeless works of literature. Lantern Classics exists to reintroduce great texts to contemporary readers through elegant editions that honour the original while speaking clearly to today’s world.

Six Bricks Publishing
A home for children’s books that value wonder, curiosity, and emotional intelligence—stories built brick by brick to inspire young readers and thoughtful parents alike.

Two Trees Books
Our science fiction and fantasy imprint, publishing imaginative, intelligent storytelling that expands possibility while remaining grounded in strong character and ideas.

Why we exist

We believe independent publishing matters. It allows space for risk, depth, and voices that do not chase trends but instead shape them quietly over time. Our focus on poetry, personal development, and classics reflects a belief that reading is both a private pleasure and a lifelong practice—one that sharpens perspective, deepens empathy, and encourages self-knowledge.
