Submissions

We accept submissions selectively and deliberately.

Our publishing programme is small by design. We are interested in work that shows clarity of voice, depth of thought, and an understanding of form—writing that values restraint as much as expression.

What We Are Interested In

Across our imprints, we consider:

  • Poetry collections
  • Non-fiction grounded in reflection, culture, ideas, or personal development
  • Literary fiction and fiction anthologies
  • Carefully considered proposals for classic works (Lantern Classics)

We are drawn to writing that rewards rereading, that does not rely on urgency or excess, and that trusts the intelligence of the reader.

What We Are Not Seeking

To respect both our time and yours, please note that we do not currently consider:

  • Genre fiction outside our listed imprints
  • Manuscripts written to trends
  • Works requiring rapid commercial turnaround
  • Rough ideas or first-draft material

How to Submit

If you believe your work aligns with our list, please send:

  • A brief cover note (no more than one page)
  • A short synopsis or statement of intent
  • A sample of the work 

All submissions should be sent using the form below. Please follow the instructions on formatting your manuscript to ensure that it receives a fair chance at consideration.

If you wish to submit poetry or short stories to our anthologies for consideration, please follow the submissions process on our ANTHOLOGIES page. 

 

    • GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING

      • All submissions should be in Microsoft Word or PDF format
      • Make sure your line spacing is set to at least 1.5
      • Text size should be set at 12pt minimum in Times New Roman font

      In the first instance, we will need the following:

      • A synopsis and the first 5 chapters or first 3,000 words of your manuscript
      • Word count (of complete manuscript)
      • Genre or desired imprint to submit to
      • Your name and contact details
      • A brief cover note containing any relevant information about the author should also be included

      Please send all material for review as a single Word document or PDF file format.

    • OUR SELECTION PROCESS

      Once your full submission is received, it is considered for publication by our editors who will assess its content, subject matter, and suitability under one of our imprints. If our editors consider the work to be appropriate for our lists, we will put forward an offer of publication.

      We accept ONLY electronic submissions. 

      Electronic versions of your manuscript should be in one file and not separate files for each chapter or section.

      A Note on Response Times:

      We read submissions carefully and without haste. If your work is a fit for our programme, we will be in touch.

      If you do not hear from us within 6 to 8 weeks, we thank you for trusting us with your work and wish you well with its future.
